Two PhD students have been awarded research grants and scholarship in recognition of their commitment to deep learning, vision foundation model and data-centric AI. Both of them are supervised by Professor Hengshuang ZHAO.
Mr Lihe YANG is awarded the ByteDance Scholarship, which is an annual programme initiated by ByteDance from the year of 2021, providing each winning student with a prize of around RMB 100,000 and its equivalent scholarship with the chance to join their internal research programmes. Mr Yang’s research focuses on vision foundation model and data-centric AI.
Mr Xi CHEN is awarded the NSFC Young Student Basic Research Programme (PhD candidate), grants will be awarded to his applied project. Mr Chen’s research interests are centred around deep learning and computer vision, with a particular focus on generative AI, including image/video generation/editing. He is passionate about leveraging generative AI to simulate the real world and enhance human-world interaction.
