Graduate Courses Offered in 2025-26
Graduation requirement for attending the seminar
Four-year PhD students must attend at least 10 seminars per academic year throughout their studies. The seminars can be chosen from the SCDS Distinguished Lectures, or from the seminar series of the three departments.
The seminar requirement guidelines are as follows:
- For students registered from September to January, the normal requirement will apply.
- For students registered from February to April, half requirement for the first academic year, full requirement for the remaining academic years fully spent in the PhD program, and half-requirement for the last academic year.
- For students registered from May onwards, there will be no requirement until September of the next academic year. The full requirement will apply starting from September. For the last year, the student will have from September to May (or onwards) to fulfill the full requirement.
- For students on study/non-study leave, ad hoc arrangements can be made if the leave is more than 3 months.
Students are required to download the HKU App to record the attendance of the seminar.
- Effortless Attendance Taking: Simply open the app when you are in supported venues, and your attendance will be automatically recorded.
