A huge congratulation to Professor Reynold C.K. CHENG for receiving the Faculty Knowledge Exchange Award 2024. This marks his second time receiving the award since 2021. His project named “GIVE: Generic and Intelligent Volunteering for Supportive Communities” aims to promote volunteer services of social welfare organizations via digitalization, has garnered significant support and recognition from 18 NGOs. The system uses a Heterogeneous Information Network (HIN) to match needy users with suitable helpers by storing relationship information among needy users, helpers, and NGOs. Their mobile app has been upgraded with a subscription architecture which allows data sharing and collaborations among organizations with just a few steps of customization.
This achievement has once again validated Prof. CHENG and his team’s exceptional dedication and expertise.
The team has received HKD$15M donation from the Little Bluebridge Foundation for further development of HINCare previously.
