HKU-SCF FinTech Academy*, Cyberport and Hong Kong Productivity Council announced on November 1, 2022 the results from the FinTech Talent Study Report at the Hong Kong FinTech Week 2022, revealing an urgent need to nurture more talents to address the FinTech talent gap in the financial services industry. The presentation ceremony of the HKU-SCF Scholarship in Financial Technology for 2022-23 also took place at the same occasion. This scholarship is one of the initiatives of the HKU-SCF FinTech Academy, supported by the Standard Chartered Hong Kong 150th Anniversary Community Foundation, aiming to attract and nurture elite students who will be supporting the future development of FinTech in Hong Kong and other parts of the world.
A total of 9 students with outstanding entrance examination results pursuing the Bachelor of Arts and Sciences in Financial Technology [BASc(FinTech)] or the Master of Science in Financial Technology and Data Analytics [MSc(FTDA)] programmes at HKU have been awarded with scholarships from the Academy. Undergraduate students will receive an entrance scholarship of HK$50,000, while postgraduate students will receive HK$60,000.
