A state-of-the art GPU farm (a computer cluster with 100 pieces of NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti GPU cards installed in 25 compute nodes) that is offering powerful GPU-backed virtual machines for high-performance parallel computing has been built at the Department of Computer Science at HKU. This new computing facility will enable students and staff to apply and develop cutting edge machine learning models. The farm consists of NVIDIA GPUs, 10-Gigabit Ethernet switches and 6 file servers providing 576 TB usable disk storage in total.
