Dr. Weiming Feng is an incoming Assistant Professor at the School of Computing and Data Science, The University of Hong Kong. His research interests are in Theoretical Computer Science, focusing on sampling and approximate counting algorithms for high-dimensional distributions and their applications in Statistics and Learning Theory. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Nanjing University in 2021. Before joining HKU, he held postdoctoral positions at The University of Edinburgh, UC Berkeley, and ETH Zürich.
Research Interests
Theoretical Computer Science, Discrete Probability, Sampling and Approximate Counting Algorithms, and Markov Chain Monte Carlo (MCMC).
