The Cyber Attack and Defence Elite Training cum Tournament (CADET2), held from 31 July to 2 August, provided a unique learning and development opportunity for students and staff from the School of Computing and Data Science (CDS) at HKU.
CADET2 was jointly organised by the Cyber Security and Technology Crime Bureau (CSTCB) of the Hong Kong Police Force, the Digital Policy Office and the Hong Kong Internet Registration Corporation Limited. The event brought together over 160 professionals and IT specialists from more than 70 organisations for hands-on cyber attack and defence training.
Six graduate students and staff of CDS joined CADET2 as facilitators. In preparation, they undertook OffSec cybersecurity certification courses to strengthen their technical knowledge and skills. During the event, they assisted in delivering training sessions and provided support to participants in hands-on exercises.
Professor S.M. YIU commended the facilitators for their professionalism and enthusiasm. The facilitators also benefited through networking with industry experts, gaining exposure valuable for their future careers.
