A CS final year project on "Early diagnosis of scoliosis in children from RGB-D images using deep learning" by LI Gengyu and HUANG Siyi, with Dr Kenneth K.Y. Wong as the supervisor, was selected as Top International 20 by the James Dyson Award of 2020. The James Dyson Award is an international design award that celebrates, encourages and inspires the next generation of design engineers.
This project is working on a new deep approach to synthesize children's X-ray images from RGB-D images to eliminate children's exposure to radiation when taking X-ray in the process of diagnosis of scoliosis. Please read more from the award website and project website.
