Dr. Wang is a Professor of Computer Science & Engineering at Texas A&M University. He was a Chair Professor and Head of the Department of Computer Science (2012-2017) at The University of Hong Kong. He conducts research in visual computing and has published over 400 technical papers.
Research Interests: Computer Vision, Computer Graphics, Human-Computer Interaction, VR/AR, Robotics, Machine Learning, Medical Imaging, and Geometric Modeling.
Professional Services: Associate Editor-in-Chief of IEEE TVCG. Have been journal associate editor of Computer Aided Geometric Design (CAGD), Computers and Graphics (CAG), IEEE Transactions on Visualization and Computer Graphics (TVCG), Computer Graphics Forum (CGF), IEEE Computer Graphics and Applications, and IEEE Transactions on Computers. Conference or Program Chairs of ACM Symposium on Physical and Solid Modeling (SPM 2006), International Conference on Shape Modeling (SMI 2009), Pacific Graphics 2012, SIAM Conference on Geometric and Physical Modeling 2013 (GD/SPM'13), SIGGRAPH Asia 2013, Geometry Summit 2019 and Geometry Summit 2023. Founding Chairman of Asian Graphics Association (2016-2020).
