Dr. Heming Cui receives an award from the Huawei Research Innovation Program (HIRP) 2017 with his proposal “Achieving Strong Fault-tolerance for General Storage Applications via Fast, RDMA-powered PAXOS”. This award includes substantial research support and collaboration opportunities, including a research grant of USD 70,000, joint patent applications, and transfer of the new distributed systems developed by Dr. Cui’s group into Huawei’s commodity datacenters.
The HIRP seeks to identify and support world-class, full-time faculty members in global leading universities pursuing innovation of mutual interests. This year, Huawei received a large number of submissions, and only the competitive ones were selected for the award.
