CCC Winners to Compete in Waterloo

Of the 95 secondary school students having taken part in the Canadian Computing Competition (Hong Kong Contest), two emerged as the winners of a free trip to Waterloo, Canada to attend the grand final in May. They are form 4 student Li Cheuk Ting of La Salle College, and form 6 student Ng Ka Shing of CCC Kei San Secondary School. Their scores topped the list in the senior category.

In the junior category, Wong Wing Lun of Lingnan Hang Yee Memorial Secondary School and Yuen Chi Ho of Diocesan Boys' School achieved the full score of 75. They are both form 4 students.

The Contest took place in HKU on 1 March and the Award Ceremony on 6 March. 12 students including the above received a prize for their outstanding performance. The guests of honors who presented the prizes included Dr. David Cheung, Head of Department of Computer Science, HKU, Mr. Troy Vasiga, Director of the CCC, University of Waterloo, and Professor CF Lee, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of HKU.
